Box Score Virginia Union University's Kristin Madison had 15 kills while Esha Atkins at 26 assists to lead the Lady Panthers to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 on Monday, September 22, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Atkins also had four service aces in the match.

Virginia Union's Chelsea Beaudoin and Taylor Witherspoon had 12 defensive digs and Ellie Parsons added 10 digs.

Parsons also had four service aces in the match.

The win evened VUU's record to 5-5 overall and 4-1 in the CIAA play.  The Lady Panthers are now in second place of the CIAA Northern Division, behind Chowan University.  Chowan is 5-0 in the CIAA.  Virginia State fell to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in CIAA play.

VUU now travels to Fayetteville, N.C. to compete in the second CIAA Round-Up.  The Lady Panthers will play Fayetteville State University at 3:00 p.m. and then Shaw University at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27.  The Lady Panthers then face Saint Augustine's University at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28.
