Box Score Virginia Union University's Kristin Madison had 15 kills while teammate Brittney Dobbins had 10 kills, but Elizabeth City State University defeated the Lady Panthers 18-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-23 on Thursday, October 2, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

VUU's Esha Atkins had 34 assists in the four-game match.

Virginia Union University's Ellie Parsons had a career-high 28 defensive digs in the match.  Parsons had 20 defensive digs in a single match three times in 2012.

The loss dropped VUU's record to 7-7 overall and 6-3 in CIAA play.  In divisional play, the Lady Panthers are 1-1 and currently in fourth place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.

Elizabeth City State is 5-10 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Division of the CIAA.

VUU now travels to Salem, W.V., to compete in the Salem International Tri-Match.  Virginia Union will play Salem International University at 9:00 a.m. and then play West Virginia University Institute of Technology at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
