Box Score Virginia Union University's Kristin Madison had 10 kills, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 25-19 on Monday, September 23, in Petersburg, Va.

VUU's Allorie Sanders had 16 defensive digs while teammate Esha Atkins recorded 24 assists.

Virginia Union's Brittany Dobbins had three solo blocks.

The loss dropped VUU to 2-3 overall and in CIAA play.  Virginia State is now 6-5 overall and 4-0 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Fayetteville, N.C., to compete in the CIAA Volleyball Round-up.  VUU will face Fayetteville State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 and then meets Shaw University at 3:00 p.m. the same day.
