Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Virginia Union University's volleyball team opened the 2013 with a 25-17, 25-18, 16-25, 16-25, 27-25 win over Livingstone College on the first day of the CIAA Round-Up 1, held on Saturday, September 14, at Oxford, Pa.

The Round-Up, hosted by Lincoln University, saw VUU go 1-2 over the two-day event.  Virginia Union lost to Winston-Salem State University 23-25, 25-12, 26-28, 25-16, 16-14 on Saturday, and then lost to Johnson C. Smith University 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 on Sunday, September 15.

VUU's Kristin Madison had 30 kills in the three-match round-up while teammate Allorie Sanders had 25 kills.  

Virginia Union's Esha Atkins had 43 sets and 17 service aces over the three matches.

Sanders also had 26 defensive digs.

VUU now returns to Lincoln University, Pa., to face Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.
