Atkins Gets 43 Assists Against ECSU

Box Score Virginia Union University's Esha Atkins recorded 43 assists and six service aces, but Elizabeth City State University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-22, 13-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-13 in women's volleyball on Monday, November 4, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

VUU's Kristin Madison had 20 kills while teammate Ellie Parsons had 15 defensive digs in the match.

Virginia Union's Allorie Sanders also had 11 kills in the match.

The loss gave VUU a final regular-season record of 7-13 overall and 7-9 in CIAA play.  Elizabeth City State is now 10-9 overall and 9-6 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union finishes the 2013 season in fourth place of the Northern Division of the CIAA and qualifies for the CIAA Championship.  The Lady Panthers will play Winston-Salem State University (the #1 seed in the Southern Division) at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
