Box Score Virginia Union University's Esha Atkins had 16 assists while Allorie Sanders had six defensive digs, but Virginia State University defeated VUU 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 in women's volleyball action in Barco-Stevens Hall on Monday, October 14, in Richmond, Va.

Atkns and Kristin Madison had six digs apiece while Brittney Dobbins and Tashinah Walker had five kills apiece in the match.

The loss drops VUU to 4-9 overall and 4-6 in CIAA play.  Virginia State is now 11-7 overall and 6-1 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Murfreesboro, N.C.., to face the Chowan University on Sunday, October 20.
