Virginia Union University's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by Fayetteville State University, then defeated by Virginia State University 3-1 before finally falling to Winston-Salem State University 3-1 in the CIAA Volleyball Tournament on Friday, November 16, in Hampton, Va.

In the first match, VUU's Ellie Parsons had 14 defensive digs while teammate Demi Schrader had 14 assists, but Fayetteville State went on to a 25-20, 25-15, 27-25 win over the Lady Panthers.

In the second match of the day, Schrader had 23 assists while Parsons had 18 digs.  VUU's Kristin Madison also had 16 kills, but Virginia State defeated VUU 25-22, 25-14, 18-25, 25-12.

In the last match, Schrader had 26 assists while Parsons had 20 digs.  Madison had 13 kills while VUU's Kierris Doyle had 16 digs, but Winston-Salem State defeated the Lady Panthers 23-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-20.

The losses spelled the end to the Lady Panthers' season.  VUU ended the season with a 5-23 record overall and 5-11 in CIAA play.
