Virginia Union University's volleyball team topped Livingstone College 25-20, 27-25, 25-16 on Friday, November 4, on the first day of the 2011 CIAA Volleyball Championships in Hampton, Va.

VUU's season, however, ended when Winston-Salem State University defeated the Lady Panthers 26-24, 25-21, 25-16 and then Chowan University won over VUU by the score of 25-17, 25-16, 25-23.

In the victory over Livingstone, VUU's Kristin Madison collected 15 kills while senior teammate Aisha Berkley had 15 digs.  

Virginia Union University's Demi Schrader had 32 assists while Madison added five service aces.

VUU finished the season with a final record of 11-23.  The 11 wins were the most for a VUU volleyball team since 2006.
