Virginia Union University's men's cross-country team placed 14th at the 2011 HBCU Challenge Cross-Country Meet, held on October 1 in Cary, N.C.

VUU's Hakeem Fields was the highest men's finisher, completing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 31:08, good for 58th place.  

VUU's Deion Dickens was 64th with a time of 31:56.5 while the Panthers' Andrew Njoku was 76th with a time of 33:35.5.  Arthur Wesley of VUU was 77th with a time of 33:49.7.

VUU's Marcus Dean was 82nd with a time of 34:42.7 while VUU's Rodney Hargrove.

The meet was won by Norfolk State University with 20 team points while Winston-Salem State University was second with 98 points.  Hampton University was third while Benedict College was fourth and Virginia State University was fifth.
