Men's Cross-Country Captures 1st Place at VSU Meet

ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia Union University men's cross-country team delivered a dominant performance at the Virginia State University Cross Country Meet, finishing 1st overall on Friday, October 10.

Leading the way for the Panthers was Rodgers Korir, who claimed 1st place individually with an impressive time of 25:07. He was followed by Darryl Hawkins, who finished 5th with a time of 26:19.15, and Keon Koonce, who placed 9th in 27:17.84, helping secure the team victory.

"Congratulations to the men's team for finishing 1st overall at the VSU Cross Country Meet, led by Rodgers Korir, who placed 1st individually with a time of 25:07," said VUU Head Cross-Country Coach Franck Charles. "We were able to pull off the win—thank you, God—but I wasn't fully satisfied with how we ran today. We have a week and a half to fix a few things and come back stronger."

The Panthers' strong collective effort underscores their growing consistency and competitive depth as they prepare for their next challenge at the CIAA Cross Country Championship on October 23 in Salem, Va.
