ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia Union University men's cross-country team delivered a dominant performance at the
Virginia State University Cross Country Meet, finishing
1st overall on Friday, October 10.
Leading the way for the Panthers was
Rodgers Korir, who claimed
1st place individually with an impressive time of
25:07. He was followed by
Darryl Hawkins, who finished
5th with a time of
26:19.15, and
Keon Koonce, who placed
9th in
27:17.84, helping secure the team victory.
"Congratulations to the men's team for finishing 1st overall at the VSU Cross Country Meet, led by
Rodgers Korir, who placed 1st individually with a time of 25:07," said
VUU Head Cross-Country Coach Franck Charles. "We were able to pull off the win—thank you, God—but I wasn't fully satisfied with how we ran today. We have a week and a half to fix a few things and come back stronger."
The Panthers' strong collective effort underscores their growing consistency and competitive depth as they prepare for their next challenge at the
CIAA Cross Country Championship on
October 23 in Salem, Va.
