Virginia Union University's Ellie Parsons had 10 defensive digs, but Claflin University downed VUU 25-23, 25-14, 27-25 on Sunday, October 2, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Aisha Berkley had a team-high 10 kills while setter Demi Shrader had 27 assists.

Both Berkley and Renesha Chiles of VUU had two service aces apiece.

The loss dropped VUU to 4-14 overall while Claflin raised it's record to 12-6.

The Lady Panthers now face Chowan University in a CIAA volleyball contest on Tuesday, October 4, at 6 p.m. in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
