Virginia Union University's Aisha Berkley had 25 kills, but Virginia State University edged the Lady Panthers 31-29, 16-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-9 in a dramatic volleyball match on October 19 in Barco-Stevens Hall.

VUU's Brittanee Adams had 38 assists and 16 defensive digs in the match while Berkley and Jessica Thompson had 21 digs apiece.

Lashira Williams of Virginia Union also had 10 kills to go with her 17 digs and Kierris Doyle had 10 digs.  

The loss dropped VUU to 8-14 overall and 7-8 in CIAA play.  VSU raised it's record to 9-12 overall and 9-6 in CIAA play.
