RICHMOND, Va. (Jan. 29, 2026) — The
Virginia Union University women's basketball team delivered a complete performance Wednesday night at Barco-Stevens Hall, posting a decisive
70–32 victory over
Elizabeth City State University in CIAA action.
The Lady Panthers dominated from start to finish, using suffocating defense and efficient offense to control the contest. Virginia Union held ECSU to just
32 points, forcing turnovers and limiting high-percentage shots throughout the game. ECSU struggled from the field, while VUU's balanced attack generated scoring opportunities across the roster.
"We shared the ball for the first time in a long time," said
VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Alico Dunk. "We moved the ball well, got the ball to the right people, and we executed."
Leading Scorers:
- Virginia Union: Bruni Martinez led the Panthers with 15 points, followed by Maya Robinson adding 12 points in support of a balanced scoring effort.
Virginia Union improves its conference standing and continues building momentum as the season progresses.
