The Virginia Union University women's basketball team earned a
68–53 road victory over
Lincoln University (Pa.) in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) action on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers turned in a complete team performance despite being without two regular rotation players, relying on depth, defensive intensity, and balanced scoring to secure the win.
Leading Scorers for VUU:
- Karimah Nix led the Panthers with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
- Ashley Gonzalez added 15 points, providing a spark from the perimeter.
- Ramsey Cureton chipped in 14 points with efficient shooting.
- Bruni Martinez recorded a double-figure scoring effort with 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
- Hailey Blackwell finished with 9 points, contributing on both ends of the floor.
"This was a good road win for us," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Alico Dunk. "It was a total team effort. We had individuals step up with two of our players out that play significant minutes."
Virginia Union controlled the tempo throughout the game, applying consistent defensive pressure and capitalizing on transition opportunities to maintain separation in the second half.
