Virginia Union University Women's Basketball dropped a CIAA Northern Division contest to Bowie State University, 61–48, on Saturday afternoon at Barco-Stevens Hall.
Despite a competitive effort, the Lady Panthers were unable to contain Bowie State down the stretch.
Bruni Martinez led VUU with 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while
Maya Robinson added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Karimah Nix contributed six points, rounding out the Lady Panthers' top scorers.
Serenity Johnson finished with three points and a team-high six assists, providing key contributions on both ends of the floor.

"Today we didn't play our best basketball," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Alico Dunk. "Too many costly mistakes down the stretch. We have to give Bowie credit — they executed and made plays."
