BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — The Virginia Union University women's basketball team earned a hard-fought 75-69 road victory over Bluefield State University on Wednesday evening at Ned Shott Gymnasium. With the win, the Lady Panthers improved to
10-5 overall and
4-3 in CIAA play, while Bluefield State dropped to
10-7 (4-4 CIAA).
Virginia Union displayed poise and balance throughout the contest, overcoming early pressure and executing down the stretch to secure the conference win away from home.

- Bruni Martinez led all scorers with a game-high 28 points, while adding 14 rebounds, five steals, and three blocks in a dominant all-around performance.
- Maya Robinson contributed 13 points and six rebounds in the frontcourt.
- Deaishjah Somerville finished with 11 points, while Serenity Johnson rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.
The Panthers shot
42.6 percent from the field and capitalized on opportunities created by their defense, scoring
21 points off turnovers and
17 second-chance points. Virginia Union's ability to control the tempo in the second half proved decisive as it withstood multiple late runs.
