Virginia Union University's men's basketball team secured a 62-50 victory against Bowie State University on Wednesday, January 22, in Bowie, Md.

"I was very proud of the way we bounced back and got a big road win against a solid Bowie State team. I thought we played great in the first half defensively, holding Bowie to 14 points. DJ Mitchell did a great job scoring and making free throws down the stretch. We continue to fight through injuries, and it was a total team effort tonight to get this win.
