Mark Wright passed for 294 yards and four touchdowns as VUU downed Shaw University 42-7 in the Willard Bailey Classic on Saturday, September 28, at Willie Lanier Field at Hovey Stadium in Richmond, Va.

Byers was named the games Offensive MVP while VUU's
Jabril Norman was named the Defensive MVP.
"We played Panther Football today," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr.
Alvin Parker. "The guys did all the things right today, especially the small things. That's been missing the prior couple of weeks, but they did it right today, and that turned into success."
VUU is now 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in CIAA play.
The Panthers will now host Winston-Salem State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, at Willie Lanier Field at Hovey Stadium in Richmond, Va.
