Virginia Union University's Tahj Harding scored a team-high 22 points, but Bowie State University defeated the Panthers 73-70 in overtime on Wednesday, February 14, in Bowie, Md.

VUU's Joshua Caine led the Panthers on the boards with seven rebounds while Jonathan Salazar scored 13 points in the game.

"I've got to give Bowie credit for coming out and playing a great game tonight," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jay Butler.  "We didn't come out very aggressive on defense and we took a lot of bad shots offensively in the first half.  I thought we picked it up some in the second half and fought to the end, but too many turnovers hurt us from getting the win tonight."

VUU will now face Winston-Salem State University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in the NBA HBCU Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.  The game will be televised nationally on the NBA Network.
