Virginia Union University's
Nevaeh Reaves scored a team-high 22 points as the Lady Panthers downed the University of the District of Columbia 90-64 on Saturday, November 30, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
VUU's
Taniyah Greene added 19 points while teammate
Maia Charles scored 16 points in the win.
Virginia Union's
Bruni Martinez led the Lady Panthers on the boards with eight rebounds.
"We just stuck to who we were tonight," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We pressed the whole game, so our offense was created by our defense. We didn't shoot well from beyond the three-point arc in the first half, but then we started coming alive. We started attacking more, because we do have some good three-point shooters. "
Virginia Union will now travel to Pembroke, N.C., to face UNC-Pembroke at 5:00 p.m. On Tuesday, December 3.
