The Virginia Union University men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the indoor track regular season by competing in the VMI Winter Relays, held on February 4, in Lexington, Va.
VUU's
Jalen Hinton placed fourth in the men's 200 meters while Jeremiah Jordan placed sixth in the men's long jump.
"This weekend at VMI was really good for our team. It will get us ready for the CIAA Conference Championships next week," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Charles Franck. "We had a great athlete in
Jalen Hinton, who did a personal best in the men's 200 meters and fourth overall out of 30 athletes in the 200. He ran the 200 in 22.10 seconds, He ranks in the top five in the CIAA in the 200 meters and the 60-meter dash. Jeremiah Jordan jumped 21-6 which placed him sixth overall, and overall I would say we're heading in the right direction."
VUU will now compete in the CIAA Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C., on February 12 and 13.
