Bruni Martinez scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as VUU downed Winston-Salem State University 72-64 on Monday, December 18, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Ny Langley led the Lady Panthers with 18 points in the win.
It was the third straight win for the Lady Panthers, who are now 10-2 overall and 4-0 in CIAA play. The Lady Panthers lead the Northern Division of the CIAA, ahead of Virginia State University and Bowie State University, both of whom are 3-1 in conference play.
"This was another great team win," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We had a rough start but pulled it together and had a strong finish. We shared the ball well in the second half and finished with 12 assists and we shot 52.9% from the field.
Bruni Martinez was huge with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Ny Langley stepped up with 18 points and five rebounds as well. This was a great way to go into the Holiday break. We will enjoy our families, regroup, and prepare for Barton when we return."
Virginia Union will now play host to Barton College at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
