Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Panthers Start 2-0 for the First Time Since 2018

Virginia Union University's Ny Langley and Nevaeh Reaves scored 13 points apiece as VUU downed East Stroudsburg University 62-42 on the second day of the PSAC-CIAA Conference Challenge on Sunday, November 12, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

The win gave the Lady Panthers a 2-0 start for the first time since 2018, when VUU won 28 games.

VUU's Bruni Martinez and Taniah Johnson scored 10 points apiece while newcomer Mahogony Collins had six blocks.

"Our young ladies really stepped up this weekend and secured two wins against two tough PSAC contenders to start our season in the Barco," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry. "Bruni Martinez had an amazing rebounding night (15 rebounds) and we had four players with double digit scoring. Mahogony Collins came off the bench giving quality minutes with 6 blocks. We really challenged them to pick up the defensive intensity and they rose to the occasion. We are humbled and preparing for our next challenge vs. Mount Olive next Saturday."

Virginia Union will face the University of Mount Olive at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, in Mount Olive, N.C.
