Virginia Union University's Alana Simmons had 13 kills and three service aces as VUU defeated the Virginia University of Lynchburg 25-14, 25-10, 25-16 on Tuesday, October 17, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Andrea Sanjurjo had 30 assists while teammate Aireanna Johnson had 14 defensive digs in the match.

"Really proud of my ladies staying focused and getting the job done tonight," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan. "They showed good communication in chaotic situations improving our consistency."

Virginia Union will now face Lincoln University of Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
