The Virginia Union University women's and men's track & field teams returned to action at the Vince Brown Invitational, held at Christopher Newport University on Sunday, January 29, in Newport News, Va.

VUU's Kayla Lee made the finals in the women's 60-meter dash.  Lee ranks eighth in the CIAA in the 60-meter dash.

Virginia Union's Thariq Walters came in third in the men's Triple Jump with a personal record of 14.04 meters.  Walters is now fifth in the CIAA in the Triple Jump.

"Our team showed a lot of heart today," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Charles Franck.  "As a coach you have to be very proud."

VUU will now travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to compete in the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track on February 3 and 4.
