Virginia Union University's A'Qoyas Cody recorded her first collegiate double-double by scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as the Lady Panthers downed Virginia University of Lynchburg 77-31 on Monday, January 23, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Brittini Martin, Jhakia Gist and Darryn Ziegler scored 10 points apiece in the win.

"Tonight we established a new team high 17 assists and freshman A'Qoyas Cody was able to get her first double double as a college athlete," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "VUL fought hard and never backed down. There are still some lessons we can build on from tonight's win and apply them moving forward as we face a tough ECSU on Thursday."

VUU will now travel to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 26.
