Virginia Union University's
Ny Langley scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but Livingstone College sank two free throws with 0.4 seconds left to play to send the Lady Panthers to defeat 49-48 on Tuesday, February 8, in Salisbury, N.C.
VUU's
Ceanna Kinney and
Ymani Breedlove tied with Langley with eight rebounds to lead Virginia Union on the boards. Langley also had three blocks in the game.
"We had 26 turnovers, shot 47% from the free throw line, and sent them to the foul line at crucial moments in this game," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We cannot bring the same energy to our game on Thursday vs Bowie. We have to go back to the drawing board and get mentally and physically prepared for our next opponent."
Virginia Union now returns home to face Bowie State University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
