Lady Panthers Shock Elizabeth City State

Virginia Union University's Ny Langley recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers to a 73-60 upset of CIAA Northern Division leading Elizabeth City State University on Wednesday, February 16, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Taniah Johnson scored 14 points while Raven Williams and Darryn Zeigler scored 10 points apiece in the win.

"We dedicated tonight's win to our seniors," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "They have given their all to Virginia Union and we wanted tonight to be memorable. ECSU is an excellent and well coached team. Tonight we executed the game plan with excellence and had a season-high 20 assists. Ny Langley's double-double and six assists played a big factor in this game, while also having three other players in double-digit scoring. Raven Williams and Ymani Breedlove left everything on the court tonight. We love and appreciate our seniors."

Virginia Union will conclude the home part of the 2021-22 season when the Lady Panthers tip off against Salem University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
