Lady Panthers Down Winston-Salem State 68-60

Virginia Union University's Ny Langley scored a career-high 34 points as the Lady Panthers downed Winston-Salem State University 68-60 on Saturday, December 17, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Langley also pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds in the win.

VUU's Taniah Johnson scored 16 points while teammate Naeva Rene had 12 rebounds in the game.

"Being an alum, I know that the Gaines Center is always going to create a competitive and tough environment, but we really rose to the occasion today," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "I cannot express how impactful Ny Langley was in this win. 34 points and 16 rebounds is incredible on any night and she truly led us on the court. Taniah Johnson came off the bench giving huge minutes with 15 points and Darryn Zeigler and Chris Alston contributed seven points. Also, Naeve Rene had 12 rebounds and really worked the boards. Everyone on the team contributed tonight whether it was points, defensive stops, rebounds, or just positive energy."

VUU will now travel to Salisbury, N.C., to face Livingstone College at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19.
