Virginia Union University's Ny Langley recorded her second double-double in as many games by scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as VUU downed homestanding Millersville University 60-56 on Sunday, November 13, in Millersville, Pa.
VUU's Brittini Martin scored 15 points while teammate Darryn Zeigler added 14 points in the win.
"Today was a great team victory against a tough PSAC opponent in Millersville," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We really came together and played team basketball and made the necessary adjustments on the defensive end to win. Ny Langley had a great overall game with 20 pts, 11 Rebs, and 5 assists. Darryn Zeigler and Brittini Martin really came up big from the 3 point line. A'Qoyas Cody and Kiara Shepherd really made a huge impact on the defensive end. We are really proud of the team effort. We will celebrate the victory today and prepare for Edward Waters this coming Friday."
VUU is now 1-1 on the season, and will travel to Petersburg, Va., to take part in the VSU Conference Challenge. The Lady Panthers will play Edward Waters College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, and will then face Benedict College at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19.
