Virginia Union University will host Wingate University in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Football Playoffs at 1:00 p.m. at Willie Lanier Field at Hovey Stadium on Saturday, November 19.

This will mark the first time VUU has hosted an NCAA playoff game since 1990, a span of 32 years.

"This feels really good," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr. Alvin Parker.  "The guys have done a great job this year, and everybody involved has done a great job.  It culminates with a home playoff game, and that speaks volumes to where this program is going, and we're going to keep it going."

Virginia Union is seeded #4 in Super Region 2 and finished 2022 with a 9-1 record.  

Wingate enters the playoffs after being ranked #5 in the final regional rankings.  The Bulldogs finished the season at 9-2.

Tickets for the playoff game will go on sale on Monday afternoon.
