Virginia Union University's Maysun Creery had seven service aces to go with 13 defensive digs to lead VUU to a 32-30, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15 over Lincoln University of Pennsylvania on Monday, October 3, in Lincoln University, Pa.

VUU's Amilex Lopez-Ayala had 13 kills while teammate Ashlee Franklin collected 19 assists in the win.

"We were a little off but kept our energy up and responded to adversity," said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan. "I'm proud of our ladies!"

Virginia Union will now travel to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the second CIAA Volleyball Round-Up.  The Lady Panthers will face Livingstone College at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, and will then face Claflin University at 5:00 p.m. also, on Saturday.

VUU will meet Fayetteville State University at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, to wrap up inter-division play.
