Virginia Union University's Robert Osborne scored 17 points, but Elizabeth City State University defeated the Panthers in overtime 78-77 on Thursday, January 27, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

VUU's Jordan Peebles scored 13 points to go with 10 assists while teammate Raemaad Wright scored 12 points and led the Panthers with nine rebounds.

Darius Hines of Virginia Union rounded out the double-figure scoring with 11 points.

"We have to get back to playing 'Virginia Union' basketball, and that means playing hard-nosed defense for 40 minutes," said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jay Butler.  "Elizabeth City played a great game and they deserved to win."

Virginia Union now returns home to face Shaw University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
