Virginia Union University's women's volleyball team wrapped up second place in the Northern Division of the CIAA as the Lady Panthers defeated Bowie State University 27-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, on Tuesday, November 5, in Bowie, Md.

Erin Highsmith led VUU with two service aces and five blocks.

The second-place finish in the Northern Division means that the Lady Panthers will host a first-round game of the CIAA Tournament on Saturday, November 19, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va. The Lady Panthers will face the #3 seed in the Southern Division of the CIAA.

Virginia Union, in the meantime, continues with the final two games of the 2019 regular season. The Lady Panthers will travel to Fayetteville, N.C., to face Fayetteville State University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, and will then travel to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11.
