Virginia Union University's
Shareka McNeill scored a game-high 32 points while her sister
Shameka McNeill added 21 points to lead VUU to an 86-51 win over Claflin University in CIAA women's basketball action on Monday, November 25, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's
Ifunanya Okoye scored 11 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in the win while teammate
Dy'Manee Royal scored 10 points.

"Having played three games in five days, I thought the teamed played pretty well overall," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
AnnMarie Gilbert.   "I continue to be pleased with our rebounding effort as we finished with 43 rebounds. We played our entire roster hoping to get some other players used to time on the floor. While Shareka was steady with 32 points, three rebounds, and five steals, I was most impressed with the play of Shameka, who stepped her scoring up with 21 points, five rebounds, and six assists in 27 minutes. Iffy Okoye also played strong, coming through with 11 points and nine rebounds."
Â
The win raised VUU, currently ranked 14th in the nation, to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in CIAA play. Claflin fell to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the CIAA.
