Taurie Magee excelled at the Francis Marion/Coker College Invitational on Saturday, August 25, in Florence, S.C.
Unfortunately, Anderson University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-14, 25-16, 25-11 in the first game of the day and then Queens University defeated VUU 25-14, 25-21, 25-16.
Despite the losses, Magee, a freshmen from Pasadena, Cal., led the Lady Panthers with seven kills against Anderson while Starling, a freshman from Dallas, Tex., led the team with eight defensive digs.
Against Queens, Starling led VUU with nine kills.
A'rmaria Wright, a sophomore from Arlington, Tex., led the Lady Panthers in assists in both matches. Wright had 12 assists against Anderson and 13 assists against Queens.
VUU is now 1-3 on the season and will face University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown and Bloomsburg University on Friday, August 31, in Canton, Oh.
