Box Score Virginia Union UniversityV's Eric Shaw rushed for 85 yards while Damon Kelly scored a touchdown, but Bowie State University defeated VUU 34-7 in football in Bowie, Md., on Saturday, October 26.

Kelly took the ball in from three yards out with 11:39 left in the second quarter, but it proved to be the only Panther score of the day.

VUU's Kenneth Graham connected on eight of 20 passes for 46 yards.

Virginia Union's London Byrd, Tyrell Austin and Dominique Roane all had seven tackles, while Roane also had two sacks.

The loss drops VUU to 3-5 on the season overall and 3-2 in CIAA play.  Bowie State is now 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the CIAA.

VUU now returns to Hovey Field for the home finale of the 2013 football season.  The Panthers will meet Elizabeth City State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2.
