Jerrell Washington rushed for 152 yards on 24 carries, but Fayetteville State University defeated the Panthers 28-17 on Saturday, September 15, in Fayetteville, N.C.
Washington became the first VUU player to rush for over 100 yards in two consecutive games since he did it back in 2010. Washington had 179 yards rushing VUU's win over Brevard College on September 8.
Washington also scored a touchdown in the first quarter to give Virginia Union a 7-0 lead.
VUU's other touchdown came in the third quarter when quarterback
Kenneth Graham scampered into the end zone from 13 yards out.

Stephen Velasquez also connected on a 35-yard field goal in the game.
The loss dropped VUU to 2-1 on the season while Fayetteville State is now 1-2.
VUU now travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., to face Winston-Salem State University at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22.
