VUU Football Sweeps Offensive CIAA Weekly Honors

Coach Arrington Jones III Named Coach of the Week

HAMPTON, VA – Virginia Union University has swept weekly CIAA Honors on the offensive side of the ball for the second time this season. For the second time this season, VUU quarterback Lamar Little (5-11/205/JR/Candor, NC) has been dubbed CIAA Offensive Back of the Week. Little posted 146 yards and 1 touchdown on 9 carries. He added 152 yards and 3 touchdowns in his aerial attack. Offensive Lineman of the Week Honors went to Kynneth Moses (6-2/280/JR/Chesapeake, VA). Moses anchored the team's offensive line enabling the Panthers to turn in a season-high 475 yards of total offense. Phillip “Jarad” Taylor (6-1/195/JR/Centreville, VA) was named CIAA Wide Receiver of the Week. Taylor posted 117 yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions. His performance was highlighted by a 90-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Little.  
 
In addition, VUU Head Coach Arrington Jones, III was named CIAA Coach of the Week. This is the second time that Jones has earned this honor this season. 
 
This past weekend, the Pantherslifted their overall record to 3-0 by defeating Livingstone College 45-7 during Week 4 of the CIAA's regular season schedule. This marks the first time the Panthers opened their season with three-straight wins since the 2000 season.
