Ryan Gould enters his first season at Virginia Union University and will serve as the defensive ends coach. Gould comes to Virginia Union from RJ Reynolds high school where he served as co-offensive coordinator, run game coordinator, and offensive line coach.
Before joining the RJ Reynolds staff, Gould was part of the mallard creek football staff where he joined in 2020 as the offensive line coach. Under the leadership of Gould, the mallard creek offensive line gave up under 10 sacks and led the state of North Carolina in the fewest sacks given up in back-to-back seasons, The offensive line was also responsible for back-to-back 2,000 yard rushing seasons and totaling over 50 plus rushing touchdowns throughout the two seasons under Gould’s watch. Gould would be responsible for 7 All-conference offensive linemen, 2 shrine bowl selects, and 2 East vs West Allstar selects during his tenure with the mavericks in which 5 would go on to play college football (UNC-CHARLLOTTE, NC A&T, Charlston University, and Greensboro college)
Gould is a graduate of the class of 2018 from Hampton University located in Hampton Virginia, where he would receive a degree in sports management. Gould was an offensive lineman for the Pirate football team and a 4-year starter for the pirate program.
During Gould’s tenure as a pirate under head coach Connell Maynor Gould gave up only 2 sacks in all 4 seasons as an offensive tackle on the offensive line. Gould would be named as a 3-time All-MEAC select and would be named an All-American following his senior season with the pirates.
In 2013, Gould graduated from West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, North Carolina, where he was a 3-year varsity starter for the Titans' football team. Gould would be named a 3 time All-conference, 2 time All-Northwest, an All-State select in 2013, and a 2013 Shrine bowl select following his senior year with the titans.
Gould is the middle child of 3 boys, Andre Johnathan Gould, and Joshua Gould, and the son of his Father Andre Demitrious Gould, and mother Tiwana Michelle Hopper-Gould who have been married for over 25 years.
