Quinn Brown enters his first season at Virginia Union University and will serve as the Offensive Line Coach / Run Game Coordinator. Brown comes to Virginia Union from Henderson State University where he served as Assistant Head Coach, Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. In 2022, Brown's offensive line allowed Henderson to operate as one of the most balanced offenses in the country. At the close of the regular season, the Reddies were one of four teams in all of NCAA Division II to average over 235 passing yards and 200 rushing yards per game. As entire unit, HSU finished third in the GAC with 443.9 total yards per game. Brown also produced two All-GAC Team honorees off his offensive line in center Conner Justus and guard Blaise Smith.
In 2021, Brown was again part of one of the top offense’s in the country after finishing the season ranked #4 in total offense and #7 in scoring offense. As well as another pair of All-GAC Team honorees in offensive tackle Blake Dybala and center Hunter Nobbs.
In his first season in charge of the offensive front, the Reddies' line gave up just 12 sacks all year despite throwing nearly 400 drop-back passes. The offensive line blocked and led a unit that finished third in the GAC in scoring offense and averaged 31.7 points per game. Brown also produced two All-GAC Second Team honorees off his offensive line in guard Izak Faoa and tackle Clifford Jackson.
Brown came to Henderson in 2019 after spending two seasons as the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. During his stint with the Cardinals, Brown coached the offensive line and had two All-Conference performers in Jake Kapustka and Cade Cumbie. Brown also served as the Cardinals' recruiting coordinator and organized WJC’s recruiting plan and campus visits.
Prior to his stop at William Jewell, Brown coached for two seasons at Division I Northern Colorado, where he was an offensive graduate assistant working specifically with the offensive line. During his time with the Bears, Brown worked directly with both the offensive line coach and tight ends coach, assisted in developing game plans, and provided support in UNC’s recruiting efforts.
Before going to Northern Colorado, Brown’s first Division I opportunity came at the University of Wyoming, where he worked as a graduate assistant with the Cowboy’s offensive line. During his time in Laramie, Wyoming, Brown aided the offensive line coach with opponent breakdown, coordinated the special teams unit and scout teams, and assisted in recruiting efforts for the Cowboys in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Texas.
Brown’s first coaching opportunity came at William Jewell during the 2012 season, when he served as the Cardinal’s tight ends coach. Prior to entering the coaching world, Brown played for four seasons at Missouri, where began his career as a quarterback before transitioning to the offensive line for the final three years of his career. During his playing career with the Tigers, Mizzou won the Big 12 North Division title in both 2008 and 2010.
Brown received his bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University of Missouri in 2011 and his master’s degree in Adult & Post-Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming in 2017. He and his wife Mikalah have one dog, Dreka (7).
