Virginia Union University Athletics

Justin Smith, a native of Leesburg, Virginia, enters his third year as Tight Ends Coach and first year as Fullbacks Coach at Virginia Union University. Before becoming an Assistant on the staff Smith played left guard for Virginia Union University from 2018-2020 serving as Team Captain and an All-CIAA offensive lineman his senior year. Coach Smith has had the opportunity to coach Kalen Carver who was selected to the All-CIAA team in 2022 and 2023 as well Carver was selected to the Preseason All-CIAA team this year. Coach Smith is always looking to motivate and push his players to play at their best week in and week out. Coach Smith received a B.S. degree in Mass Communication Magna Cum Laude and a M.S. degree in Hospitality Management from Virginia Union University.
