Anthony Prevost

For his 4th year as the Specialists Coach at Virginia Union, Prevost will coach & lead the Specialists, while assisting with Special Teams. The Panthers are excited and looking forward to another phenomenal and record-breaking season, with a ranking of 18th in Division II football.

He is the former Head Coach of the Men & Women’s “Panther Club Soccer” Program.

Anthony Prevost joined Virginia Union University in Spring 2021 as the Specialists Coach. Since he has been with the Panthers, he has been able to assist the Special Teams in achieving their season goals and reaching their potential, by making sure the Specialists are well tuned and performing at a top level.

Prevost, finishing the 2023 season; a CIAA Conference Champion (10-2). Prevost coached Sophomore kicker, Brady Myers who finished the season #1 overall for the CIAA, receiving 1st Team All CIAA honors and being named CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year for his 2nd consecutive season. Prevost also coached Junior punter Marvin Holmes who finished the season as the #2 punter in the CIAA with a punt average of 37.4 yards from 49 punts in 12 games.

Prevost, finishing the 2022 season; coached true freshman kicker, Brady Myers who finished the season #1 overall for the CIAA receiving 1st Team All CIAA, All Rookie CIAA Team, CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year. Sophomore punter Marvin Holmes was one of the top two punters in the nation by punting average. He finished the season as the #1 punter in the CIAA with a punt average of 43.5 yards from 33 punts in 11 games. He ultimately received 2nd Team All CIAA honors and almost broke the school record for the longest in-game punt of 73 yards.

At the closing of Coach Prevost’s 1st year (2021), dual-kicker Jefferson Souza (former All-American) was selected for the 2021 HBCU Legacy Bowl.

Coach Prevost is the founder of Superior Specialists (2016).

Superior Specialists is a training service dedicated to the fundamental development of Kicking, Punting, Long Snapping & Place Holding. Superior Specialists works with trainees of ages 8+, Middle School, High School, College, & Professional levels. Superior Specialists provides each athlete with the opportunity to perfect their skill and talent while learning the fundamentals & mechanics they will need to be successful in every phase of their game! Each athlete receives the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive knowledge provided in 1 on 1 instruction from our coaches. Our coaches are devoted to giving instruction that will ensure the use of the best physical and mental techniques each athlete will need to access their full potential, both on and off the field.

From 2018 to 2020, while playing Arena Football in Richmond, VA & Wheeling, WV, Prevost coached JV & Varsity football at Surry County High School in Dendron, Virginia. Coach

Prevost served as the Special Teams Coordinator, Assistant Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks, Linebackers & Specialists Coach.

Prevost graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (2017). He is an athlete, former FCS, MEAC & Black College All American kicker (2013). He is a current Pro, Free Agent dual kicker who also plays Kick Return, Slot Receiver & Long Snapper. Coach Prevost brings over 16 years of kicking experience & knowledge. He is a 2024 American Arena League Champion (Wheeling Miners), a 2019 American Arena League Champion (West Virginia Roughriders) and played in 2018 with the Richmond Roughriders. Prevost is a part of The National Scouting Combine Staff & serves as the Offensive Coordinator.

Prevost graduated from Thomas Dale High School (2012) and held the “Most Career Points Scored” record for his school until 2018. He played quarterback, kicker, punter, and kick return. He is a 2009 VHSL State Champion.

Coach Prevost is married to Lauren Prevost. They have 1 son named Andre Prevost, a dog named Boomer, a turtle named Mango and a bird named Tango. Coach Prevost has won 5 championships and shares a birthday with his Godson on September 4th.
