Valerie Briggs has been the Head Cheerleading Coach for the Virginia Union University "Rah Rahs" for the past 22 years.
Before coming to VUU, she coached at Marshall/Walker High School in Richmond, Va., for two years.
Ms. Briggs is a native of Richmond. She attended John F. Kennedy High School, where she cheered for four years and served as captain during her last three years.
She is a 1977 graduate of Virginia State College (now Virginia State University). She holds a Bachelor's in Health and Physical Education/Driver Education.
Ms. Briggs is a retiree of Richmond Public Schools, where she taught Health and Physical Education/Driver Education for 36 years.
She is an active member of the CIAA cheerleading Coaches Association (CCCA), where she holds the office of Treasurer.
Ms. Briggs encourages the Rah Rahs to be ladylike at all times as they are ambassadors of Virginia Union University.
