Virginia Union University's
Danasia Sturdivant,
Jenna Nicolski and
Caston Garland had doubles, but Georgian Court University swept the Lady Panthers 10-8 and 3-1 on Monday, March 10, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.
VUU's
Yonah Rogers had two hits in the opener while batting in a run in the opener while teammate Kamya Jones drove in a run in the nightcap.
"We started out strong the first game, stringing hits together and scoring runs, something we have been up and down with," said VUU Head Softball Coach
Dominique Mulero. "What it came down to was finishing and we could not shut the door! We continue to put ourselves in good spots, but we just come up short! We have to find a way to get it done offensively and defensively not one or the other! I'm confident that with conference play starting next week that we will make that happen! We have a lot of season left, we will turn this around! "
VUU will now travel to Petersburg, Va., to face Richard Bland College in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15.
