Virginia Union University's football team has been ranked 14th in the nation among NCAA Division II teams by Lindy's College Football Magazine, it was revealed on Tuesday, May 30.
The Panthers finished 9-2 and were ranked as high as 10th in the nation last season.
"This is huge for the program," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr.
Alvin Parker. "Anytime you can get national recognition for the body of work that your program has done, it speaks volumes about the way that you're headed. We want to thank the people at Lindy's and everybody who contributed to that in recognizing our program. It's hard work, but we have a great group of kids here that do everything that I ask of them. We have a hardworking staff, and to see that published will allow other people see that as well. It makes me feel good about what we have going on here."
