Virginia Union University's
Chris Alston scored a team-high 18 points, but Lincoln University of Pennsylvania defeated the Lady Panthers 72-64 on Thursday, February 9, in Lincoln University, Pa.
VUU's
Ny Langley scored 15 points while teammate
Taniah Johnson added 10 points in the game.
Virginia Union's
A'Qoyas Cody led the Lady Panthers with nine rebounds.
"Lincoln is a great team who defended their home court tonight," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We had a terrible start and did not recoup from it.
A'Qoyas Cody and
Chris Alston had outstanding games, but we did not do enough as a team to secure a win. We fought from a deficit and cut the lead but made one too many errors on defense. We have to put a complete game together as we prepare for Bowie.
Virginia Union now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Bowie State University at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, in Richmond, Va.
