Virginia Union University's Jada Byers rushed for 199 yards and two touchdowns as VUU defeated Livingstone College 42-6 on Saturday, September 17, at Willie Lanier Field in Hovey Stadium.

The win kept Virginia Union undefeated at 3-0 overall and 1-0 in CIAA play.

VUU's rookie sensation Curtis Allen rushed for two touchdowns while kicker Brady Myers remained perfect on the season by going 6-for-6 in extra points.

"I was pleased with the physicality we showed in all three phases of the game," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr. Alvin Parker.  "We ran the ball well, we stopped the run and we played well on special teams. I'm proud of the program on our first conference win".

Virginia Union now travels to Fayetteville, N.C., to face Fayetteville State University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24.
