GAME HIGHLIGHTS | Virginia Union University's Olivia Lynch scored 13 points, but Claflin University defeated the Lady Panthers in the opening round of the 2022 CIAA Tournament 68-56 on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

VUU's Ny Langley added 10 points while teammate Ymani Breedlove grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in the game.

"Obviously, this is not the outcome we all wished for," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "But we do appreciate our young women fighting to the end.  We still have a very young team who's still trying to adjust and still trying to learn.  For some of them it was their first CIAA Tournament, and it was hard for them being in the spotlight.  If we had come out at the beginning of the game with the same energy we had in the second half I feel that we would have had a different outcome here."

The loss gives VUU a final 2021-22 record of 10-14.
