Ny Langley led the team with six rebounds while scoring eight points.
Virginia Union's
Jhakia Gist added seven points in the game.
"We learned a lot from this loss," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierry Terry. "We are going to continue working on team concept and learn from our errors. Shepherd was a very tough opponent."
The loss put VUU's record at 1-2 while Shepherd is now 5-0.
Virginia Union now travels to Lynchburg, Va., to face Virginia University of Lynchburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29.
